FAMILY HISTORY VIDEO BIOGRAPHIES
ARE PRICELESS
- Have you ever loved and lost a special person and wish
you could ask him or her some questions that you overlooked while they
were still alive?
- Is there someone who died before you were born that
you wish you could have met and asked some questions?
- Was there a person you loved dearly and just WISH that
either your spouse or child could meet but is no longer with you?
If you said yes to one or more of these
questions, I have a final question for you:
How much would a video interview of this loved one be worth
to you?
If I were to take a guess,
you'd simply say, "priceless."
Grandpa's Memories, located in San Jose,
California, provides the priceless service of high quality, digital video
taped interviews (also called video biographies).
When we are finished, you will have a video
in whatever format you choose including, VHS, DVD, or a Mini DV tape.
We create these videos by asking questions
of your loved ones to ensure that they are known by future generations.
In fact, we ask a wide variety of questions to elicit priceless
anecdotes on personal memories, family stories, and advice
to future generations.
The end-result will be an item that no
family should be without: a high-quality document on video that people
can see and afterwards say, "I have a very good idea of who that
person is (or was)."
Every life has a story - pay tribute
to that story.
The
power of my own service hit home this year. Sadly, my Grandpa Ben,
pictured here with my Grandma, died in January 2004. Although it was
a painful loss for my family and for me, we all feel comforted to know
that future generations will be able to see him and hear his
stories thanks to the video interviews I performed. To be
sure, he will be known in ways that he could not have been known if
I were to merely describe him to my children through my words and with
photos. Instead, they will see in high quality video who he was and
have the next best thing to an afternoon visit with him.
Additionally, because of the longevity of digital video, they will
also be able to share this video with their own children some day.
Don't let your family stories get lost.
Create a family memoir first hand from those that lived it.
Preserve your family history forever.
I, Adam Dorsay, will personally conduct
the interviews. I have trained all my life to provide my services as
a video biographer. I have a Master's degree in counseling from Santa
Clara University and with that, the ability to gently probe and elicit
true and appropriate responses. I am confident that I will quickly gain
the trust of your loved ones; they will soon feel as though they are
speaking to an old friend.
"Adam Dorsay of Grandpa's
Memories interviewed my father last week and I
don't think anyone else could have done a better job. My
father and I are very close, but as his son interviewing him about
his life (which I have done), our emotions interfere with the interview. Adam
has the sensitivity as well as the insight and level of professionalism
that turns what many people would think of as an ordinary interview
into a work of art. Adam has the ability to elicit wonderful
stories and heartfelt memories from his subjects. He did just that
in his interview with my father. I will always cherish the interview
and I know my children will as well."

CHOOSING US TO CREATE YOUR FAMILY MEMOIRS ENSURES:
1. Your loved one will enjoy the process. It will be fun!
Also, your loved one will feel listened to, understood and honored.
2. Obtaining answers that you most likely will not be able
to get. Your loved one will take the interview seriously and will give
thorough answers because they are working with a professional. Even you
will likely learn something new when you see the tape.
3. That the interview will not be interrupted, as it might
be if you did it yourself.
4. The project will get done quickly and efficiently. It
will not be put on hold until the proverbial "tomorrow" which
may never come. Instead, you will have immediate gratification for a
memorable DVD or VHS movie that you, your family, and future generations
will cherish.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve you and will welcome your phone
call or email.
